FAQ
Authentication & Access
- Is there an authentication procedure?
- ➢ Yes, to approve a transaction, an approver must provide an RSA token/OTP to verify the payment.
- What is an RSA Token?
- ➢ An RSA Token is a token generated by the SecurID app. Approvers use this token to approve transactions in CityCorp.
- How do I install the SecurID App?
- ➢ The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. City Bank will email a URL/link to the approvers. After opening the app, approvers will be asked to provide a URL, where they will copy and paste the link received from City Bank.
- How do I generate and use a token?
- ➢ When the approver opens the SecurID app, they will see an interface prompting for a SecurID PIN. They should not enter a PIN; they should simply press submit. The token will then be displayed. Each token is valid for one minute.
- What if the token does not work/is shown as invalid?
- ➢ If the token does not work, the approver should try using the next token. If that still does not work, the user should email citycorp@citybankplc.com including the approver’s ID and a screenshot of their screen.
- What if the approver cannot find the email with the SecurID link?
- ➢ Approvers should first check their junk/spam folder. If they still cannot find the email, they can request it to be resent by emailing citycorp@citybankplc.com
- What if approvers reside outside of Bangladesh?
- ➢ They can still approve payments via RSA token or OTP shared via email.
- What if the approver changes their device?
- ➢ If approvers change their device, they must repeat the SecurID setup process. They should preserve the original link email. If they have lost the email or changed their device type (e.g., Android to iPhone), they must request a new link by emailing citycorp@citybankplc.com
